We have walked around the streets of Beirut and there was intense traffic. Many buildings are still scarred from the war but there are also lots of buildingsites where new buildings rise to the blue sky. The air is scented of the sea and smog. Beirut is a maze of large highways and small alleys, built on the range of Mount lebanon.
We visited the National Museum where one can see the influence of egyptians, greece and romans where evident in the art from the area. It was very well ordered with many artifacts to see. It is amazing how these craftsman work at that long ago.
