I must say when the CNN are cabling out pictures of a lebanon where people are demonstrating like crazy I myself get a totally different picture walking the streets of lebanon. Of course people discuss the current events and the killing of president Hariri, but there is also a great hope that this will be solved in a peaceful manner. The people live their ordinary life though in Monday there will be a strike in Beirut and i have been told that it is better to leave beirut for that time.
Even so i am not worried about what will happen. There is no signs of any uproar or violent behaviour. People go on with selling and trying to fool the tourist out of as much money as possible.
My hope lies with that Syria will leave the country alone and move their troups back. What the goverment will react to the strike in monday is unsure, but i imagine they need to do something about the situation.
We talked to a man at a hotell where we took some beers and he told us that the primeminister was lying and that there was no believes in the present goverment. They wanted change and it seems that most of the people want a country free from involvemnent from other countries.
